Family & Children Elects new President

Family and Children’s Aid elects Brad Cooper as the new President of the Agency Board of Directors.   The meeting was held at the Extend Program, located on West St in Danbury the 22nd of June.  Brad has been associated with the Agency for seven years, joining the numerous community minded individuals and businesses to assist in opening the first residential program – the Danbury Safe Home. 

Brad and his wife Lyn own Cooper’s (formerly known as Cooper Mulch) a Landscape Supply company located in Danbury by the airport now celebrating their ten year anniversary.  Prior to being in business for themselves, Brad worked at Perkin-Elmer in Norwalk for 24 years in Customer Service and Information Technology.

Family and children’s Aid is a 100 + year social and therapeutic agency supporting children thru the most notable residential programs for the abused and neglected.  Additionally other programs include our Therapeutic Extend Program for school aged children, the core program - Child Guidance, a Mentoring program, Elderly Care Giving, Shelter for Mother’s and children as well as the newest program – Therapeutic Foster Care.

Dr Irv Jennings, Medical and Executive Director stated “it has been a pleasure to work with Brad over the years with his support in the numerous landscape features as well as his ideas to strengthen the agency.”
